Richard A. Mielbye - President

Richard A MielbyeRichard A. Mielbye, president, brings nearly a quarter century of success in real estate, lodging, development and construction.  In his career he has developed more than 75 real estate projects in the nation’s most difficult markets. 

Previously, he was senior vice president-development for Innkeepers USA Trust, one of the nation’s leading hotel real estate investment trusts (REIT).  During his three-year tenure, he sourced development opportunities in such high barrier markets as Valencia, California; El Segundo, California; Richmond, Virginia; Rockland/Boston, Massachusetts; and Montvale, Atlantic City and West Orange in New Jersey. 

Prior to that Mielbye served as senior developer for Shaw’s Supermarkets, where he was responsible for sourcing new development opportunities, including site selection, expansions, contract negotiations, and attaining government approval for more than 10 projects. 

He began his career in the lodging industry at Extended Stay America, which was the fastest growing extended-stay brand during his tenure there.  He served in two different capacities, first as real estate manager responsible for the Mid-Atlantic and then as regional manager for the Boston area, as well as the mid-Atlantic, where he initiated site selection and development of more than 40 sites through the building permitting stage.   He also served as regional vice president,  Marriott International Senior Living Services, where he successfully acquired land, negotiated contracts, and obtained zoning approvals and building permits for more than 25 projects during his three-year tenure.

Mielbye received an Associate Degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts in 1981.  He currently serves as a professional member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a board member of Starwood’s Owner Advisory Board and Group 7 Designs Inc.



Jeffrey H. Fisher – Investor , Advisor

Jeffrey H FisherJeffrey H. Fisher has been an investor in and advisor to FPG Development Group since its inception in 2007.  He has been involved in the development, ownership and management of hotels for more than 25 years.  He currently is the founder and CEO of Chatham Lodging Trust, a real estate investment trust traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

Previously, he was CEO of Innkeepers USA Trust, at the time the 17th largest hotel company worldwide prior to its sale to a private investment group in June 2007.   At the time of the sale, Innkeepers owned or was a joint venture partner in 75 hotels with an aggregate 10,000-plus rooms and an enterprise value of $1.5 billion.  Prior to that, he was president and CEO of JF Hotel Management, Inc.  He began his career as an attorney with Jones & Foster P.A., a leading law firm.

Fisher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University, a Masters Degree in Law in Taxation from the University of Miami and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Nova Southeastern University. He is a licensed attorney and currently serves as a board member of Marriott’s The Residence Inn Association.
